Ausangate Seven Lakes Trek

Trip summary

The Ausangate Seven Lakes Trek is an unforgettable adventure for trekking enthusiasts, nature lovers, and high-altitude landscape admirers. During this full-day tour, you will hike through Andean valleys surrounded by glaciers, alpacas, and stunning lakes in shades of turquoise, green, and sky blue, all fed by the melting ice of the majestic Ausangate Mountain (6,384 m / 20,945 ft), the highest peak in the Cusco region.

This route offers more than just postcard-perfect scenery; it provides a deep immersion into Andean cosmology. The lakes are considered minor apus (protective spirits) and were part of ancient sacred routes.
